A Day on the Galway Bay

On Sunday in Galway we got up to a whole lot of nothing.  The highlight of our day was a long walk out to the bay for a picnic lunch.

[Note from Chad: this is Rusheen Bay, a little tidal bay just west of Galway.  At low tide it's completely sandy, and at high tide it fills with water through a narrow channel - the bay is actually to the land side of some cliffs and a public beach.]

Preparing for some tide pool wading.

Windsurfing lessons in the bay - a consistent light breeze, but not too light; perfect learning conditions.

All that wading makes a girl thirsty!  Chad thinks this photo is hilarious because I needed both hands to lift the bottle.  Maybe I was weak with hunger?

A gorgeous spot for lunch!!!

Up the cliff...

The view back down from the top.

And then down the other side...

It was a good thing we had a lazy Sunday, because the next two days in the Aran Islands were action packed.  Stay tuned for the next blog post!
